What Are Your Road Blocks?

We all have them … that is, road blocks to personal and business growth. However, we have to identify them first before we can begin to overcome them. But overcome them we must … otherwise we won’t grow to achieve whatever it is we’re aspiring to.

What are roadblocks?

Roadblocks can be many things and appear in different situations. They can be recognized through the words you’re using, your daily actions or inactions. They are basically excuses. Excuses you’re giving yourself for not achieving success or getting that breakthrough you want for your business.

How many times do you hear yourself saying, ‘it’s the economy,’ ‘people just aren’t investing in my type of product or service at the moment,’ or ‘everything I do is different for a client and therefore I’m the only person who can do this.’ I’ve got to tell you that … none of this is true!

They are all road blocks which you have created for yourself. It is only you who believes them to be true. For instance, we all know that there are ups and downs in the economy. We all know that fashions or trends fade. It happens now and it has always happened throughout history. We also know that for many people who choose to think differently, that this gives us more opportunity to grow. We might need to change something we’re doing or create offers that will attract people by giving them more value. Either way, it’s all about changing your mindset.

How do you do that?

Start by identifying what your roadblocks are. Write these down. Then when you have done that, identify why you think in that way. Write that down. And then identify the emotion behind that thinking. Write that down. And finally, ask yourself what you can do to overcome these road blocks. Then take the action necessary to overcome and move beyond where you are now.

Let me give you a couple of examples:

Example One:
My road block is ‘I hate writing proposals as they take so much of my time. However, it’s only me that can do them because every single client is different.’

Is this true? No, of course it isnt! We know from the old 80/20 rule that almost 80 percent of what you do for clients will be very similar work. It is only about 20 percent that will differ. If you were to look at every single piece of work or job you have completed for any number of clients then you would see that most of what you do is very similar. Yes, there will be some differences but in the main, it will be very similar. So, you could make writing your proposals much easier and quicker. It is only your mindset that is preventing you from doing that.

And what about the emotion that is keeping your thinking in that mindset? It’s likely to be a fear of letting go incase you lose control. This might stem from either a past bad experience where this happened, or it might be a fear of not being able to look as through you are giving your clients the personal service you’ve told them they might expect. It might also be a lack of confidence in your ability to fulfill everything you say you will. Or it could even be a fear of not remembering each step of the process – so just incase you miss something out if you didn’t meticulously write it all down for that particular client. Hint: a check list or a mind map is just as good and takes much less time. Either way, it’s time to let this thinking go …

What is it that you can do to make change so that you can work more efficiently?

Example Two:
My roadblock is that in the current economy people are just not buying my sort of product or service.

Is this true? No, of course it isn’t. People buy when they have a need or want for the product or service that will make things easier for them or to make them wealthier, healthier or happier – regardless of the economy. Yes, people may be more choosy where they spend their money … but they will still spend it somewhere … and it might as well be with you … if only you change your mindset.

And what about the emotion that is keeping your thinking in that mindset? In most cases it is a fear-based emotion tied to a belief somewhere in your sales process. Or it might be a lack of knowledge in how to make sales in any economy. It might be a combination of things. Either way, the information to do that is out there … if you want it.

If you can first of all identify your road blocks, and then the thinking and emotional attachment fueling your roadblock, then you will be in a far better position to be able to overcome and move beyond them. Isn’t it time you stopped holding yourself back?

Are You Ready To Free Yourself Today!

Imagine how free your life would be if you didn’t have to think about money. Just how many decisions do you make based from a financial standpoint as against whether you want them or not? In most cases you look at the price tag – right?

But it’s so much nicer to go through life and to say ‘I want that, I want to go on that trip, I want to go to that island, I want to have that new car or I want to have that amazing pair of shoes’.

I’m not talking about not being responsible for money or not managing money because that’s important. You still have to do that. But as far as doing the things that you want to do, by thinking of it in this way then you’re not making them based on a financial decision. And as far as the Law of Polarity is concerned, the money is already there.

The first step is to accept responsibility for your life and to come from a position of entitlement. If you’re coming from a place of being a victim to your outside world where you believe that you deserve that everybody needs to do things for you and yet nothing ever gets done then you’re never going to be in the right mindset in order to bring the wealth in.

So here’s what you need to know:

i. There is more money to go around for everybody.

There’s enough money for everyone. And you can have as much money as you want and it doesn’t take anything away from anybody for you to have money.

ii. You get money by giving things.

Start off by giving who you are. The polar opposite of getting is giving. Most people enter into all kinds of business situations, networking situations, marketing situations from the aspect of getting instead of giving. And once you come from the perception of giving, it changes your perception so much so that you begin to see the opportunities that are right there in front of you to acquire as much money as you could possibly want.

So make a list of at least 10 things you would like to do right now. What would you do? Where would you go? How would you travel? Where to? Who would you take with you? What might you buy? Where would you live?

Now let your mind wander … and work out the how. Free yourself from ever making another financial decision and your life will be enriched.

The Law of Polarity In Business

Is it possible to accelerate your success? Why do some people find it easy and others struggle?

It’s all to do with the Law of Polarity, which states that everything in the universe has an opposite and it’s equal in opposites. In other words, when you come across someone who has a desire or a need for any amount of money and they don’t have it, what they can’t see is that the money is right there for them already in their lives. They’re just not seeing it.

As far as the Law of Polarity is concerned, there is a pressing need for money and the opposite of this is that the money is already there – it’s just invisible to the person right now. The toughest part when somebody doesn’t have any money in their life and there is this huge pressing need to have money for whatever it is they need it for, then it’s difficult to get this understanding across to them. Because for the Law of Polarity to do it’s work, there is a need to keep an open mind that the money is already there and understand that it is only their belief system that is telling them they don’t have any money.

The first part of understanding the Law of Polarity is to understand that what they’re seeing in their life has everything to do with their belief system. They see what they believe and they don’t see what they don’t believe. So the idea is about starting to change their belief system so they can see the money.

Napolean Hill in ‘Think and Grow Rich’ calls this the sly disguises of opportunity. He says ‘when the opportunity came, it appeared in a different form and from a different direction’ than he’d expected. It’s one of the tricks of opportunity. It has a sly habit of creeping in the back door and is often disguised in the form of misfortune or temporary defeat. He goes on to say that, ‘perhaps this is why so many people fail to recognize opportunity – the opportunity for them to extend products and services and then, receive money for them.

So many people working in their own businesses do not see the opportunity until they have changed their belief system and that is the big challenge. Because when there is a need to change the belief system, it’s often where people get frozen or they don’t want to take the next action step. In other words to become of themselves they have to want to step up to the opportunity in order to grasp it.

Napolean Hill describes it in this way by saying ‘sometimes it comes in misfortune or temporary defeat because the fact that they have to make changes that are uncomfortable for them, it appears unfortunate’. They’ve got to do things that they’re already programmed to be uncomfortable with. Most of the people around the world are programmed with the idea of working for a living. In other words ‘go and get a job of some kind’. They are employed by someone else. The rules and values and beliefs that actually help a person thrive in employment to another individual are totally contrary to the rules, values and beliefs that an entrepreneur has in order to extend great service and make money.

So part of the process for an entrepreneur is to identify what their beliefs, rules and values are which are working like an operations manual in their lives that are preventing them from getting the things they want and then seeing it and recognizing it and having it flow into their lives really effortlessly. Now when I say effortlessly, this does not mean without having to do some work!

We all have 24 hours every day and we all do something within those 24 hours. So you do have to be very critical about what you do during those 24 hours. But when the belief system changes, the money and the results start to flow into the person’s life, very effortlessly.

In other words, they will still do work but the work that they do is likely to have changed to work that they love. They may have found their life’s purpose. Sometimes individuals’ change may be in the passion they feel for what they do. Or it might be in their relationships or in their jobs. Whatever it is, the results they are getting will be very different to those they had with their previously limiting beliefs.

So start by looking beyond the ‘I haven’t got the money to do this’ and focus on making the invisible visible.

We live in a world where everything is based around monetary values. And when we talk of wanting to live a wealthy life and we tend to link this to money in so much as if I have enough money to do all the things I want to do … then I’ll be happy.

Yes, a wealthy life does include a money element as you do have to live. But there are people out there telling you to visualize money arriving through your mailbox. Or sit back and imagine bank notes raining down on you. And recite an affirmation along with this to make it seem real.

Unfortunately that’s a very random approach to wealth, because if you just believe the universe is going to bless you and make you wealthy, you’re basically not sowing first. You’re trying to reap without sowing. That’s what you’re doing if you are imagining money arriving without your taking the necessary actions for it to arrive.

I love the definition that ‘wealth is the ability to get what you value by being of service to others’.

And did you notice that I didn’t say ‘money’? The reason I’m pointing this out is that some people have the idea that wealth is just having money. Let’s look at it this way. If for instance, you get a job and earn £500,000 a year, most people will be happy with that. But what if your highest priority was your family life and bringing up your children and your job is taking up six days a week and most evenings. Would that be wealthy for you?

It wouldn’t be wealth, it would be a real detriment because for you wealth is raising your children and having that family experience.

So on the other hand, if someone wasn’t that concerned about family life but they had a complete desire to build monetary wealth, then if they were able to have a job like that, they’d be very happy. It wouldn’t bother them.

So, wealth is based on what you value.

Now, here’s the key and remember this. You’ll never build wealth until wealth aligns with your true values. You’ll never build wealth, meaning you’ll never get the thing that you want, be it money or relationships or whatever else, until that thing that you want is in alignment with your current value system.

Wealth comes from the Latin root for “well-being,” it’s complete being, it’s one being.

The way to build a wealthy life is to start by identifying your true values and how you can use these in a way that serves others. This in turn will bring in the monetary aspect that will allow you to lead your wealthy life doing what you love.

Start by building every area of your well-being including relationships, health, fitness, social, dietary, money … and start to increase your overall well-being.

Can you imagine how it would be if you had a light switch that you could turn on whenever you wanted to and it would light up your life and business? How would that make you feel? What might it allow you to do?

Would it change how you viewed your past? Would it make a difference to how you view your future? Would it change how you currently create wealth?

I’m going to share that light switch moment with you … because it really does exist!

But first, there’s a very special definition of wealth that I’d like to share with you and how you can build that wealth in your future. And the definition is this, “Wealth is the ability to get what you value by serving others”.

And it’s often said by many business and spiritual leaders that ‘everyone deserves to be wealthy’. And if you follow what they teach and do what they do then you will receive the rewards they have. But the problem with this something that’s called guru-ism is that you often end up getting stuck following people instead of being leaders and realizing that you have the same traits that those people have. And you can do the same things those people have in your own way, but in a way that’s aligned with your true values, rather than theirs.

So, it’s all about connecting the parts of yourself to your true values. You need to be building your life and business around your soul values. Those things that are true for you.

Remember, that you are here to do something unique and that sometimes it might seem so daunting that even you can’t even imagine achieving it. But it’s often the very thing that people may be telling you is impossible for you to do, is the very thing that your soul may be calling you to do, the very thing that may be your destiny to do.

So start today and explore what has meaning in your life for you … and what you were destined to do.

It’s interesting when we bring up the subject of wealth that it means different things to different people. We’re often so focussed on the monetary aspect (and yes, that is part of it) that we tend to overlook the other aspects of wealth. The truth is that financial wealth will not bring you the happiness and inner peace you crave unless you nourish and grow all the other aspects of your wealth too.

Let’s look at the different aspects of wealth and how we can nourish and grow these areas to become wealthier.

1. Financial wealth – People who feel happier about financial wealth are those who are in control of their finances and actively manage their money. They don’t necessarily all have to have huge amounts but they realise that money is simply an exchange mechanism for something of value. That’s all it is. And value is set by how much you want what is being offered. People who manage their money well may decide to build empires and have millions (or billions) in the bank. Others may decide to live within their means for the pay they receive from their job. Either way, the key to financial wealth is to firstly learn to manage what you have. You can then educate yourself in anything you need to know about investing later.

2. Educational wealth – Investing in your knowledge and learning new skills. Sometimes this can be is seen as an expense but really it should be viewed as an investment – in YOU. And gaining educational wealth doesn’t have to cost money. It can include having an awareness of what’s around you and the people you share your life with. Having an awareness of what’s around you and the people around you. It can include mentoring and being mentored in your current job or for a hobby you wish to learn. Or it can simply be visiting local parks, museums, art galleries, or observing local buildings.

3. Physical wealth – No, I’m not talking Arnold Schwarzenegger although I’m sure his physical wealth was a priority. However, physical wealth relates to the health aspect of caring for your body and making sure you treat yourself well. Take time out to exercise and become fitter. Go for a walk daily, join a gym, cycle to work. Take care of your appearance and how you look with your hair, clothing and weight management. Eat healthily and cut down alcohol or caffeine that might be affecting your over all health. Making a few small changes will result in great results.

4. Emotional wealth- Being aware of our feelings and our own emotional make-up. Tuning into how we feel at any particular moment. Listening to our inner emotions and how we can recognise the different emotions we go through depending on the situation we’re faced with. A lot of time we are in a state of fear or anxiety or unpleasantness and becoming aware of this and then recognising that in this moment we can take control of our emotions. Being in the ‘now’ is a great comforter and once you get used to checking into the ‘now’ it all becomes a lot easier.

5. Mental wealth – How do you stimulate your mind? How much do you know about your own psychology and perhaps the psychology of others? Feeling stressed can be due to overload, feeling it’s out of our control, avoiding taking control, putting something off, aswell as being bored and not having enough stimulation. Our mental wealth can be improved by self-understanding and doing what we’re naturally good at rather than fighting against what we know isn’t right for us.

6. Social wealth – Do you spend time with friends and family? Do you take time off to socialise and meet new people? Social wealth is about relationships and harmony with others who you love, care about and trust. Spending time with people who’s company you enjoy. It might also be in the daily conversations you have with people around you when you’re at the local supermarket check out or petrol station. Or it might be the brief chat you have with colleagues or with the fellow dog walker whilst walking your dog. It might simply be having someone around you for company. Social wealth is extremely important in our often busy and increasingly virtual world.

7. Spiritual wealth – This is about looking at things like harmony, between you and the world and maybe some higher place. Spiritual wealth is not necessarily about religion although for many that might be the case. It is entirely your choice how you interpret spiritual wealth but when you do it’s an inner knowing that all is okay with you and the world. You will feel at peace with yourself and others.

And if you have an abundance of all these elements you will have achieved the most amazing wealth. So start to look at the different aspects of your wealth and where you can make adjustments to align yourself for a wealthier you.
