Is your life so busy you can’t find the time to focus on health & well-being? It happens to all of us at some point. Life can get very complicated very quickly and there are times in our lives when we find ourselves struggling to fit it all in. Negativity creeps in as thoughts race through our minds and we are unable to concentrate on anything for longer than a milli-second.

At those times it’s easier to bring ourselves down with admonishments to work harder, be better, achieve more, be slimmer, be more active, do more, fit more in. We want to be more than we are, despite being totally frazzled with what we’ve got.

What we need to do is to reflect on how we’ve been taking on too much which has led to us being this way. Here are some questions you can ask yourself to help with that:

* Is what I am thinking a fact, or is it just a thought?
* How realistic is my thinking?
* Can I think differently about this issue?
* When did I last take a break and do something just for me?
* Am I getting enough sleep?
* Am I getting enough exercise?
* Do I have a healthy & nutritious diet?

If you are able to sit quietly with your eyes closed and let the thought patterns drift through your mind. Adjust your breathing so you slow it down, breathing deeply in and out. Breathing in energy and breathing out stress.

This will help you to become more balanced and mindful. When balance is restored you can use mindfulness to stay in the moment, so you can enjoy your experiences with a sense of freedom and spontaneity.
