How happy are you today? If you were gauging this on a 0-10 rating, with 10 being highest, where would you be on that scale?
Unfortunately, what often happens in the strive to achieve the next step and then on to the following step … you forget to enjoy the journey. In doing so you end up working against who you are meant to be and you’re not congruent in what you’re doing. It’s all ends up a struggle. You believe it has to be difficult. It doesn’t.
I do need to clarify that this doesn’t mean you won’t have to work at something or put in many hours to achieve what you want as often you will. But when you’re congruent in what you are doing, you will be doing it without it feeling as though it’s taking any effort. Everything just flows.
I recognized in my own work, striving to get to the next step isn’t the way it should be … and so I made a conscious effort to change my attitude. I decided to build a business based on wealth, health and happiness. Try this exercise to see what a difference it will make to your everyday well-being:
Exercise: Check out your happiness level. If one a scale of 1-10 with 1 being low and 10 being high, rate how happy you feel right now in what you’re doing. Now apply this happiness rating to other areas of your life and business? What is this telling you? Are you congruent? If you are, then wealth, health and happiness will already be flowing into your life. If not, then check out your attitude. How can you make this change positively?
Making time for happiness is essential. After all, you only live once.
Imagine just for a few moments what a coiled up spring looks like.
Then imagine when you stretch it that it becomes uncoiled and stretches into a much longer drawn out shape.
The more you pull the coiled up spring out of shape the longer it gets and the pressure to hold it there is especially noticeable. If you are holding the spring in your hands the pressure is immense because the spring wants to go back into it’s natural shape.
But the longer you keep it stretched out, the harder it will be for it to go back into its natural shape. In the end it can remain stretched out and may never go back to it’s natural shape at ll.
This is how many of us live our lives today.
We’re like coiled up springs that have become so uncoiled and stretched out of shape, continually living our lives under immense pressure.
What we really need to do is to … just let go.
In doing so we will go back to our natural state, which is a much happier, healthier and wealthier place to be.
What can you let go of today?
Do you suffer from sore or dry eyes? Aching neck or back? Tingling fingers or pains running down your arms? Unable to sleep but feel very tired?
Computer Vision Syndrome could be the cause according to Dr Jim Kokkinakis, optometrist in Sydney CBD and senior lecturer at the UNSW Optometry school.
He says it’s the computer screen that is the problem leaving us exhausted at the end of the day. With brighter screens its becoming more recognized. People can start to feel ill after just 20 minutes of working on their computer.
Looking at LED screens further complicates biorhythms causing sleep problems. We run in cycles with our brain working off light. Bombarding it with LED light, and blue emissions, messes up our sleep patterns but also has health eye implications too. Blue light is toxic to the eye and is implicated in the development of the condition called macular degeneration.
Time to take a break from your screen?
